A Sustainable Christmas Cocktail Recipe from The Boiler House Bar!
  • Share on :

Oh, the weather outside is frightful… but the drinks are so delightful! Christmas cocktail-sipping is one of the joys of the festive season for many of us. Here at The Boiler House, we are no strangers to the merriment a high-quality tipple can bring (minus the teetotalers). Especially if made responsibly, there’s something very satisfying in being able to serve your party guests an eco-chic, sustainable drink!

The three musketeers of a sustainable cocktail are:
1. sustainably-produced alcohol
2. seasonal ingredients and garnishes
3. re-purposed serving ware

For a refreshing, festive and eco-delish drink, look no further than to the Apple- Cranberry Moscow Mule Punch. It has won our hearts and palates as our favourite seasonal libation. Easy to make and super-sustainable, when made with locally-sourced ingredients, of course.

Prep time: 5-7 minutes Serves: 4

200 ml Vegan Vodka (we love Jelley’s Organic)
500 ml Sparkling Apple Juice or Juiced Apples
4 Limes
1 Apple
Fresh Cranberries
Fresh Rosemary
Pink Peppercorns
Cinnamon sticks

  • Step 1: Juice the limes and set aside.
  • Step 2: With a pestle, crush a handful of cranberries with a couple of rosemary leaves and pink peppercorns. Add to a glass, copper mug or repurposed glass jar filled with ice.
  • Step 3: Pour the vodka, the sparkling apple juice and the lime juice in your container of choice. Gently stir to combine.
  • Step 4: Garnish with apple or lime slices, fresh cranberries, cinnamon sticks and a sprig of fresh rosemary. Sit down, relax and enjoy. Cheers!
